It’s mid summer and everyone is getting home from an amazing vacation!
But… what will you do for the rest of your summer besides just sit around and twiddle your thumbs?
Make some Do Re Mi of course (pun intended) 😉
As musicians, we tend to really enjoy playing, or singing, our music around others for them to enjoy as well as ourselves. So… why not make some money while you are doing something you really enjoy?!
Let’s check out different simple money making plans for musicians to use!
Performing on the Street: One of the easiest ways of making money as a musician would be to perform on the street corner and gather donations throughout the day. While many towns and cities require a permit for this, some don’t! However, just in case, check with your local town office for details.
Wealthy Affiliate: This is a great site to use for making money online. Plus, it’s super easy!
You may be wondering what this has to do with making money as a musician. Well, it does have A TON to do with it, I promise!!
As a site owner, you get to choose the name of your site and what your site will be about. If you absolutely love to talk about music and your experiences with the subject, creating a website about it is a great way to earn some extra cash!
Being a musician myself, I have used Wealthy Affiliate to create my music website 🙂
Become a Song Writer: Not the performing type of musician? More of a poetic type of guy or gal? Don’t worry! There are plenty more of ideas that are just for you, such as becoming a lyricist!
This idea can flow two ways, if not more. You can write some songs and sell them individually OR you can actually get paid for a gig as a song writer.
I cannot tell you how many singers I know who would do anything to get themselves their own lyricist haha!
Compose Songs: If you are great with music and composing with the notes, you can sell compositions! Kind of like how you would sell your songs as a lyricist.
Talent Shows: Communities and schools usually hold talent shows around certain times of the year.
When there are talent shows, there is usually prize money for the first three winners, unless the sponsors of the talent show provide prizes for everyone entering the show.
But… regardless… if you practice into an awesome routine for your performance, you’ll definitely have a chance in placing in the top three 🙂
I hope that you have found something here in my list to make you some money over the summer, or any time for that matter!!
Please share with family and friends!
Have any questions on how any of these ideas work or have any other money making suggestions for musicians? Leave a comment 🙂
Thanks a lot!
